Anthropologist and Professor by special appointment of Culture, Community and History at the University of Curaçao.
Rose Mary Allen is an anthropologist and Professor of Culture, Community and History at the University of Curaçao. She has written several publications on the social and cultural history of the Dutch Caribbean islands. She is a postdoctoral researcher in the NWO project Cultural Practices of Citizenship under Fragmented Sovereignty: Gendered and Sexual Citizenship in Curaçao and Bonaire. Currently, she is also working as a project leader of Kerk en slavernij, a research project on the role of the Dutch Reformed Church in the Dutch colonial slavery past, led by the Protestantse Theologische Universiteit, Vrije Universiteit, and University of Curacao.
